Job Title:  Intermediate Level Software Engineer

Location:  George Mason Engineering Building, Fairfax, VA

Job Type:  Full Time, Professional

For over 20 years, HealthRx has been providing customers in the NIH, FDA and various state, local and commercial clients with health sciences and clinical research software.  We develop secure web-based and mobile solutions to streamline information flow in the clinical and research environment.

The HealthRx team is searching for a highly motivated, experienced software engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidates will possess a strong technical acumen coupled with professional communication skills.  This combination of skills will fill a key role in assisting HealthRx to continue developing industry class solutions.   • Design, development, and customization of new and existing applications within the HealthRx portfolio of solutions utilizing HealthRx tools and techniques and following all mandated coding standards
  • Participation in design and implementation meetings
  • Documentation of software design and solutions
  • Participation in peer code review and periodic module level functional testing
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science (preferred) or software engineering
  • Intermediate to senior level of proficiency in software development
  • Applicants must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Technical experience requirements:
    • Object oriented programming experience in C#, Java, or other, with C# preferred
    • Experience working with Visual Studio IDE
    • Web programming experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
    • Experience with ASP.Net MVC
    • Basic SQL database and schema design experience
      • Knowledge of relational database concepts
      • Object-relational mapping a plus
    • Experience with report development and generation, SSRS experience a plus
    • Professional experience requirements
      • Strong problem-solving skills
      • Superior organizational skill and attention to detail
      • Ability to work with teams
      • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision balancing multiple projects and priorities
